Management Transition at Veterinary Medical Center-Dublin

The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine is assuming management of the Veterinary Medical Center- Dublin (VMC-Dublin) clinic, which opened in 2013 and is currently being managed by Veterinary Specialty Management Services (VSMS), Cincinnati, OH. The transition will occur over the next four months with Ohio State assuming full responsibility for management by February 1, 2015.

Representatives from Ohio State human resources will assist veterinarians and staff currently employed by VSMS to apply for positions as Ohio State employees.

The official Groundbreaking Ceremony for the addition to the existing Hospital for Companion Animals at The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center took place Sept. 5.

Veterinary faculty will respond to "Question the Authorities" at Farm Science Review

Seven faculty members from the College of Veterinary Medicine will participate in the popular "Question the Authorities" sessions at the 2014 Farm Science Review being held Sept. 16-18 at the Molly Caren Farm near London, OH. Topics include livestock behavior, public health issues, antibiotic use and resistance, raw milk, and treatments and prevention of emerging diseases in livestock. See a complete list below.

Buckeye Fever to spread at the Farm Science Review

Visitors to the 2014 Farm Science Review can participate in “Buckeye Fever,” an interactive game designed to expand awareness about how infectious diseases spread, sponsored by the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Public Health Preparedness for Infectious Diseases program.

President Michael Drake to speak at Veterinary Medical Center's Groundbreaking Ceremony Sept. 5

Join us at an official groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center at 4 p.m., Sept. 5. The ceremony will be held under the tent at the Veterinary Medicine Academic Building front lawn, 1900 Coffey Rd. Parking is complementary.

This year more than 7,270 people participated in Pelotonia, an annual fundraiser for cancer research, and once again, Ohio State’s College of Veterinary Medicine took their part in committing to the cause.

Dr. Jonathan Dyce operates on puppy found in trash

Thanks to Orthopedic Surgeon and Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences Jonathan Dyce, a puppy who was thrown away in a neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio, is now recovering from his second surgery.
