Dr. Kohn to be Featured on "Ask the Vet"

Dr. Catherine Kohn will be featured on "Ask the Vet" sponsored by theHorse.com. "Ask the Vet" is a series of online articles and live chats designed to allow horse owners to get sound advice on a number of equine topics. Dr. Kohn is one of the featured experts for a webinar titled "Healthy, Safe Trailering" and will be answering questions and offering trailering advice to webinar participants. Dr. Kohn will be featured on the live webinar on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 8-9 p.m. Eastern U.S. time (5-6 p.m. Pacific).

Dr. Jeff Lakritz Interviewed for Milk Safety Story

Dr. Jeff Lakritz, professor of Veterinary Clincal Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine, was recently interviewed by 10TV News for a story concerning milk safety. Milk is routinely tested for the presence of antibiotics before it is distributed to stores. Milk safety protocol seems to be effective as the Ohio Department of Agriculture reports that in the last 15 years, no antibiotics have been detected in finished milk products.

Nutrition Article Features Dr. Tony Buffington

Dr. Tony Buffington was recently interviewed by the Los Angeles Times for an article regarding the increasing trend of organic pet food.  More and more pet food stores are carrying organic, minimally processed, or raw pet foods. Additionally, some stores are also offering nutritional supplements for pets. While some pet owners may view specialty foods as a healthier option, veterinarians caution that additional research is needed to verify the nutritional benefits or drawbacks of organic foods.
