Alumni Reunion Weekend activities take place this Friday and Saturday! At the banquet on Friday evening, held at the Ohio Union, festivities will include class reunions, auctions, dinner, and recognition of three outstanding alumni, Linda Peck, DVM, Marsha Heinke, DVM, EA, CPA, CVPM, and Jennifer Jellison, DVM (see below for more information on these alumni). Saturday's activities will include the Ohio State Veterinary Medicine Alumni Society Annual Meeting and Board Meeting, the "State of the College" address from Dean Lonnie King, a tailgate and barbeque, and the Ohio State vs.
Dr. Brian Scansen, assistant professor of Cardiology and Interventional Medicine, was recently interviewed by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) about pacemakers in dogs. ACVIM has posted the video of the interview to YouTube. To watch the video, click here.

Two Ohio State bovine veterinary students were among the eight award winners from across the United States who received a special student recognition award sponsored by Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health. Brian Hartschuh and Elizabeth Homerosky each received $1,500 awards and an all-expenses-paid trip to the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) annual conference in Albuquerque in August .
Thanks to a special partnership between the College of Veterinary Medicine and Sinclair Broadcasting, special news segments about the Ohio State Veterinary Medical Center are running the week of August 16-20 on Good Morning Columbus, on Fox affiliate Channel 28, and the 5 p.m. news on ABC affiliate Channel 6. The spots are featured on each station's web site in a special News Features section.
