Brochures Available

The College of Veterinary Medicine now offers several of our most popular brochures for purchase by veterinarians for distribution to their clients. The brochures, which cover a broad range of topics, are available in packets of 25 for just $12.50 each (including shipping).

The brochures available are:

• MRSA information: Two brochures with information on Staphylococcus aureus regarding its spread and tips for preventing contamination are now available. One is written for veterinarians and one is targeted toward pet owners.
• Frequently Asked Questions: Two brochures, one designed for middle school students and the other directed towards high school students, offer answers to frequently asked questions about pursuing careers in veterinary medicine.
• New Puppy Guide: This brochure offers a brief overview of puppy behavior and training basics for new owners.
• "So you want to be a Vet?": This brochure describes a new Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine Web site designed to engage middle school students in activities about the field of veterinary medicine.
• Helping Children Cope with the Serious Illness or Death of a Companion Animal: This brochure gives useful suggestions for owners talking with veterinarians, and explaining death, euthanasia and serious illness to children.
• Coping with the Loss or Death of a Companion Animal: This brochure includes helpful and comforting resources for owners who have lost their companion animal.
• Difficult Decision-Making: This brochure includes suggestions and resources to help owners make difficult decisions regarding care of their companion animal, especially euthanasia.
• Do Companion Animals Grieve?: This brochure offers information for owners with surviving companion animals, after the death of another companion animal.
• Plan for a Happy Reunion: This brochure offers helpful information for pet owners on the importance of pet identification to keep pets safe. In addition, there is a checklist for pet owners offering suggestions and actions if their pet becomes lost. It is designed for use in puppy and kitten packages, as well distribution during wellness examinations.
• Poster: Plan for a Happy Reunion: This poster can be displayed in your lobby waiting area, on bulletin boards and in exam rooms to promote the availability of the brochures .
