The Carmen Widget tool allows instructors to customize the homepage for their course(s) in Carmen. Widgets, once created, can be copied from course to course and reused across different courses. Carmen course homepages utilize Widgets exclusively to display pertinent information regarding the course, links to the course calendar as well as many other tools within the Carmen environment.

If used correctly, custom Widgets can be a valuable asset to your course.

So, let's get started!

First step, log into Carmen via http://carmen.osu.edu. Click the login balloon.
You will be asked to authenticate with your name.# and university password, not your CVM login and password. Once you have entered your name.# and university password, click the Login button to access your Carmen course homepage. Note: If you do not know your university password, you can reset it by calling the university Help Line, 614-688-4357 (HELP). You can also change your current university password by visiting the OIT Account Management web site.
When you see your Carmen course homepage select the course link where you want to begin creating a Widget.
