The Carmen News widget is a tool which will allow faculty and students to dialogue together regarding topics relevant to the course.

The News widget is one of the tools that is available in all course shells in Carmen. The News widget is the place where faculty may place valuable information about the course in a central location that is readily accessible to students upon accessing a particular course. If used correctly it can be a valuable asset to your course.

So, let's get started!

First step, log into Carmen via http://carmen.osu.edu. Click the login balloon.
You will be asked to authenticate with your name.# and university password, not your CVM login and password. Once you have entered your name.# and university password, click the Login button to access your Carmen course homepage. Note: If you do not know your university password, you can reset it by calling the university Help Line, 614-688-4357 (HELP). You can also change your current university password by visiting the OIT Account Management web site.
When you see your Carmen course homepage select the course link where you want to begin creating a Discussion Board.
