The Carmen Discussion Board is a tool which will allow faculty and students to dialogue together regarding topics relevant to the course. Many courses within the college utilize the Discussion Board and, of those courses, students appreciate having the opportunity to have a space where they can ask questions of faculty members regarding lecture topics, course structure and examinations as well as speak among themselves regarding issues or course topics. Many students find speaking with other classmates allows them to critically analyze the information they are learning in lecture and apply it to cases presented in class.
The Discussion Board is one of the tools that is available in all course shells in Carmen. Like the digestive system in the animals we treat, the Discussion Board is the place where students may take the information entered into their systems and digest it to satisfy their appetites for knowledge. If used correctly it can be a valuable asset to your course.
