Society Contributions

Society members are responsible for the following major purchases for the College, several through the annual auction funds:

  • Library computers, CD-ROM station, and numerous improvements
  • Faculty photo exhibit
  • Desktop publishing system
  • AT&T Targa Imaging System
  • College lapel pins
  • College recruitment film
  • Medical Center computer system donation
  • College Plastination Laboratory donation
  • Major commitment to build a student lounge
  • Equipment for new student computer laboratory
  • Remodeling of a Veterinary Hospital conference/classroom
  • Ceiling mounted digital projection systems
  • Large format printer and scanner
  • Student research project funding
  • X-ray unit for Marysville clinic
  • Video conferencing equipment

In addition, several veterinary classes have undertaken fundraising projects for items not easily acquired for the College by other means:

  • The Class of 1964 raised over $40,000 to endow a scholarship for a student enrolled at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
  • The Class of 1966 raised over $35,000 to design and build an outdoor courtyard at Sisson Hall.
  • The Class of 1968 raised over $20,000 to landscape the front entrance to the Veterinary Hospital.
  • The Class of 1970 pledged more than $190,000 to create the Class of 1970 Communication & Learning Center in the Veterinary Medicine Academic Building. This class gift is the largest in the history of the college.
