National Cancer Institute awards $8.6 million to retrovirus center

Thanks to an $8.6 million program project grant from the National Cancer Institute, experts at the College of Veterinary Medicine's Center for Retrovirus Research are closely studying retroviral forms of cancer in a five-year study. Behavioral Medicine Clinic treats problem pets

Roger, a 2-year-old mixed breed dog, was wreaking havoc on his new owners' home. The owners thought Roger was acting out, but after careful examination and thorough history taking, Meghan Herron, DVM, DACVB, director of the Behavioral Medicine Clinic at Ohio State, determined that Roger had separation anxiety, a psychological disorder common to recently adopted rescue and shelter dogs.

University Board of Trustees approves first phase of VMC expansion

On June 6, The Ohio State University Board of Trustees approved the first phase of the Enhancement and Expansion of the Veterinary Medical Center. The board's approval will allow us to break groun in late summer, with an official groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for September 5.

Renovated space provides new research opportunities

Newly renovated space in Goss Laboratory, home to the Department of Veterinary Biosciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine, has added 9,000 square feet of state-of-the-art laboratory space. The new labs will allow an expansion of research and teaching related to infectious diseases.
