Alumni Reunion Weekend, September 9 – 11, 2011
Plan to join your classmates and colleagues for Alumni Reunion Weekend starting Friday, September 9. Traditional events include the Continuing Education Conference, Friday banquet, Alumni Recognition Awards, and class reunions. This Special Edition Newsletter has all the details including the schedule and registration information.
We encourage you to register for Alumni Reunion Weekend by August 26. No refunds will be given after Friday, September 2. Continuing Education Registration
Please join us for the fifth Annual Alumni Reunion Weekend Continuing Education Conference, Friday, September 9, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The conference will include updates on the newest diagnostics and treatments from expert faculty and a keynote presentation by Dr. Kent H. Hoblet, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University. This conference is open to all veterinarians and technicians. You do not have to be a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine to attend. Registration is $50 and includes four hours of CE credit, lunch, and refreshments. You can register for CE along with the other activities for Alumni Reunion Weekend.

The registration fee for the conference is $50 and must be received by Friday, September 2, 2011. If you need to cancel your conference registration at anytime, a $20 cancellation fee will be assessed. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after August 26, 2011. There are no refunds if you are unable to attend. If the course is cancelled, you will receive a full refund.
Following the continuing education sessions at the college alumni and friends are invited to the Hilton Columbus at Easton, 3900 Chagrin Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43219. Class reunions will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The reception and silent auction are 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner and the Alumni Society awards presentation. The live auction will follow, starting at approximately 8 p.m.
Alumni Society Alumni Recognition Awards
The Alumni Society Alumni Recognition Awards acknowledge and honor College of Veterinary Medicine alumni who have shown distinction through their professional activities and dedication. Through their time and effort, they have contributed toward the advancement of the veterinary medical profession.

We're counting on your auction donations! Donations for the live and silent auction will be accepted through August 26. Please notify us no later than August 26 if you plan to donate so that we can place that information on our website and reserve space for the items. The money raised during the Alumni Reunion Weekend auction allows us to give back to the college and students by providing funding for equipment and scholarships. Dedicated alumni such as you have helped make our auction very successful over the years.

On Saturday, September 10, we will host the Alumni Society Annual Membership Meeting and Board Meeting from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in Veterinary Medical Center Auditorium, 601 Vernon Tharp Street. Please use the Coffey Road entrance. Dean Lonnie J. King will also be giving his annual "State of the College" address from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in the Veterinary Medical Center Auditorium.
The brunch and tailgate party kicks off at 10 a.m. and goes until 11:30 a.m. You can take guided tours of the Veterinary Medical Center during the tailgate, too. Information will be available under the big tent. Kickoff time for the Ohio State vs. Toledo football game is noon. Go Bucks!
Toledo Rockets Ticket Update
This year our supply of tickets for the Ohio State vs. Toledo football game exceeds the demand. Those interested in attending the game may now purchase up to four tickets. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be ordered with the Alumni Reunion Weekend registration form or online.

On Sunday, September 11, members of the 50 year class are invited to a brunch at the Ohio Union Performance Hall hosted by Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee to celebrate this milestone anniversary. Members of the Class of 1961 received an invitation in the mail. Please RSVP accordingly.
The Ohio State University Alumni Association Activities
The Ohio State University Alumni Association will be hosting tours on Friday.
Travel and Transportation Information
Our host hotel for the Alumni Reunion Weekend is the Hilton Columbus at Easton. To register for the room rate of $149 per night, call (614) 414-5000 or (877) 547-6667. Our group is OSU CVM Alumni (College of Veterinary Medicine). Additional detailed information on schedules and parking will be mailed or e-mailed to alumni who have registered for one or more Veterinary Medicine Alumni Reunion Weekend events. Future Alumni Activities
Ohio State vs. Purdue, West Lafayette, IN
The Buckeyes will play Purdue on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, IN. The Veterinary Medicine Alumni Society has purchased 20 pairs of tickets for this game. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no refunds. Tickets will be shipped via UPS about one week prior to the game. A pair of tickets is $150, including shipping costs. Tickets may be purchased online at http://www.osucvmalumni.com/2011-purdue-away-game. You must be a member of the Veterinary Medicine Alumni Society as well as The Ohio State University Alumni Association to participate.
