Dear Alumni,

I hope you are enjoying the summer. We are busy preparing for Alumni Reunion Weekend which will be held September 11-13, 2009. This year Ohio State will play USC at 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 12. Applications for the OSU vs. USC ticket lottery were mailed to veterinarians who are members of both the Veterinary Medicine Alumni Society and the Ohio State Alumni Association as of June 1. As mentioned in previous communications, priority will be given to classes celebrating reunions: 1939, 1944, 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1999, and 2004.

We have a full weekend of activities. For details about our continuing education course, including the keynote address "The Barbaro Story" by Dr. Dean Richardson, go here. All alumni are invited to attend the banquet on Friday night at the Buckeye Hall of Fame Café. Class reunions will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m., a reception and silent auction bidding from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the band, cheerleaders, and live auction to follow. On Saturday, please join us for the Alumni Society Annual Meeting and Board Meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. and the "Future of Ohio State Veterinary Medicine" presentation at 4 p.m. Our tailgate and barbecue begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 12. See the schedule of events page for more information.

The Alumni Reunion Weekend brochures will be mailed mid-July. We would prefer if you would register on line. If you have not used the Alumni Association’s online service before, please click on “first time user.”

We look forward to seeing you at Alumni Reunion Weekend. If you are not able to attend, please feel welcome to visit us anytime. Just let us know in advance so that we can arrange a tour.
