Following the basic course, veterinarians and technicians joined to learn more advanced ultrasounding techniques.

This course led by James Becht, DVM, MS, DACVIM, DACVR covered the adrenal glands, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas and commonly found abnormalities. Laboratory stations included scanning the reproductive tracts of the male and female, pancreas, major abdominal vessels, abdominal lymph nodes, adrenal glands and the gastrointestinal tract. The major highlight of this conference was the opportunity to learn the biopsy technique.

Participants found the laboratory to be very hands-on and beneficial, especially for one some ultrasounding experience. Dr. Becht was reviewed as a "perfect 10" and attendees felt he covered an extensive amount of material, yet keps it basic and was well organized. This course was sponsored by Universal Ultrasound.
