
This course exposed veterinarians and technicians to the basic principles of small animal diagnostic ultrasounding.
James Becht, DVM, MS, DACVIM, DACVR presented a review of basic ultrasound physics and artifacts as well as the basic appoach to scanning the abdomen. Clinical cases were presented regarding common abnormalities. The laboratory consisted of scanning the liver, spleen, kidneys, urinary, bladder and medial iliac lymph nodes.
Attendees found the course to be excellent and of great value. They stated that the speaker and the notes were fantastic and a great resources for their practice. Participants enjoyed learning from the residents and faculty members of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine as they were "very practical, patient and attentive".
