Dogs with pendulous ears tend to have moister, darker ears and this can lead to a bacterial infection. If you have a dog like this, check with your vet to see if you should periodically clean his ears at home.
Always use antibiotics exactly as directed to prevent antibiotic resistance.
In dogs with recurring ear infections, usually there's an underlying problem that's causing the infections. They may have to undergo food allergy trials and allergy testing to determine the cause.
