These two standards include Scientific Inquiry and Scientific Ways of Knowing standards. The indicated Benchmarks and Indicators by Standards can be found on pages 42, 44, 80, and 87 of the Ohio Academic Content Standards.

Be the Vet

Three case studies involve problems with various body systems of the dog. Students can expand their knowledge of veterinary medicine and challenge their critical thinking skills by completing these three interactive case studies.

What Do Vets Do?

There are several exciting and rewarding careers in veterinary medicine. The careers range from a dean of a college, university professors , an astronaut, an officer in the army, or the next researcher with the cure for cancer! The following links will take students on a journey through the many career paths of veterinary medicine.

In addition to degree in veterinary medicine, veterinarians can also become certified and specialized with more training. There are 20 board certified specialties in veterinarian medicine. Click on the links to learn more about these exciting specialties via movie interviews, interactive cased-based Veterinary Scene Investigation (VSI), or text videos.

Animal Part Games

While working on cases, students may want to learn more on anatomy of the dog. The four games will cultivate their self directed learning skill and help students learn the anatomy of the dog by themselves.

The glossary consists of the words used in the case studies which may not be familiar to students. Pictures have been provided where applicable to give students a better understanding of the terms. Click on the letter that your word starts with and then click on the word you do not know.
