2016 Buckeye Vet Prep Camp
2016 Buckeye Vet Prep Camp
Description and Mission
The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine is offering a summer residential camp for entering high school sophomores, juniors, seniors and newly graduated high school students (summer between high school graduation and university matriculation) (as of Fall 2016). This is a six day residential camp that give participants an opportunity to learn more about veterinary school and the profession.
We typically accept students who are considered traditionally underrepresented in veterinary medicine, which can include males and individuals from socio-economic and or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds.
Ultimately, The Buckeye Camp aims at increasing the number of veterinarians who are underrepresented in veterinary medicine and who elect to practice in underserved areas. Toward this end, the camp strives to inspire students to pursue a career in veterinary medicine by challenging them intellectually, facilitating their academic and social development, and increasing their awareness of the special needs of underserved populations.
Admission is VERY competitive. Approximately forty students will be accepted.
